16 Week Update!

So here we are at sixteen weeks.  Week has been pretty good.  Feeling a little better, for the most part.

I had terrible pain on Friday due to the gallbladder issue but was feeling back to normal by the next morning.

We had an excellent doctor visit at the beginning of the week too where we found out we were having a GIRL!!

We are over the moon excited!  Not that we had a preference but it just makes it a little more real to know the gender.  You can start planning (in your head at least) and really envisioning what the near future will hold for you as a family.  Its pretty cool.

Oh, another pretty cool thing that happened this week, we got our fetal doppler!  I was on the fence about getting one for a long time but finally decided that it was worth it for the peace of mind it gives us.  We are now able to listen to our baby girl's heartbeat anytime we (or I) get a little anxious.  I assume that anxiety will lessen once I start to feel her regularly but for now, this will have to do.

At 16 weeks my stats havent changed so I won't include the long list but I will include some pictures!
Starting our baby registry!  I know its kinda early but we were just excited to get started!
And on yea, we had a little helper!  She's too excited to be an Aunt.

The hubby took this pic while sitting on one of the gliders...
He needed a break....umm whos the pregnant one here!?

16 Week belly pic.  I can definitely see a difference from last week!  yikes!

15 Week Update

Here we are in the second trimester and I'm not feeling any better yet.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will happen any day now for me.  I was feeling better for about a day.  That day was a fluke!  Who knows what was going on there!?

Anyway, other than the nausea, I have been feeling pretty good.  I am still taking my shots nightly and they are not so bad.  They will probably get harder though as the baby gets bigger.  It's going to be really hard for me to do it anywhere other than the belly.  (I'm used to the belly shots!)

Everyone is pretty certain this baby is gonna be a boy, all except my sister, so we will have to wait a few weeks to find out who is right.  Hubby and I just want a healthy baby, gender is a non-issue this time.  The first time around we wanted a boy very badly and we got him  :).

We are so in love with this baby already!  I can't imagine what its going to feel like when he is finally here!  Keep on growing babybean!

Oh yea, I just wanted to post this picture of the best husband in the world doing arts and crafts on the weekend when he would probably rather be doing anything else.  We saw this cute idea on Pinterest about weekly pregnancy updates using a chalkboard and since we couldnt find a chalkboard at the store, we transformed an old mirror into one.  I think it might need another coat of the chalkboard paint and maybe some darker chalk but I think it came out pretty cute!

13 Week Update

So this is it. We are about to enter the second trimester and still feeling kinda crappy...

I met with my hematologist last week and he thinks I should continue taking the lovenox shots for the blood clotting issue which means more ugly bruising on my belly! No bare belly shots for me!

Other than that, things seem to be going well. I met with my OB as well as the high risk doctor and everything is right where it should be.

Here are the ultrasound pics from my last scan at 12 weeks 4 days:

12 Week Update

Its been 6 weeks since my last update.  They have been a crazy 6 weeks.  First of all, I have felt so sick for the last month and a half that the last thing I wanted to do when I was not working was to sit in front of a computer some more.

Basically I have gone to work, went home, napped, woke up for a few hours to spend some time with my family and then back to bed by 9.

Also, about 3 weeks ago I went into the hospital for a terrible pain that we came to realize were gallstones.  So, to make a long story short, I am on a low fat diet in order to keep the pain associated with gallstones away until I am able to get them taken out.  Do you know how hard it is to eat low fat while pregnant??  Well its hard!  But I'm doing it...so far.

Tests

So this 2ww can be summed up by one word. Tests. As in multiple. I have taken over 10 tests during the past 2 weeks because I am crazy and because it makes me feel like I have some sort of control over this whole thing (which I obviously don't).

They have all been negative of course. On Saturday morning I looked at a test from the day before that I had left on the counter and there was some weird water mark on it near where the pregnancy line should be. Now I've taken enough of these things to know that you shouldn't read results after 10 minutes because of settling, etc so I took another test. Again I got this:

The one on the bottom is from Friday (with the weird water mark)  The top one is from Saturday.

The faintest of lines... I almost couldn't see it with the naked eye but the line looks a little darker in the picture.

So we have hope! We were cautiously optimistic all day. We couldn't wait to wake up the next morning so we could take another one that would hopefully be even darker and eliminate the doubt we were feeling...

That didn't happen. The test we took Sunday morning looked like this.

The line was barely there, lighter than Saturday...UGHHhHh!!!

So here it is 730 Sunday morning and now we're more confused than we were before.  Figured we should just wait until Monday morning when I was already scheduled for a blood test with the doctor so we could be sure.

That was not good enough for the hubby. He got out of bed and took charge. We're going to Target and picking up a better test. This was exactly how it happened the first time we found out we were pregnant so he wanted to do everything the same, just in case.

We purchased a digital test and got this result:

Now, you would think there would be no confusing the test above but there is always a hiccup with us... Since we took an HCG shot the night before insemination it is possible the HPT is picking up remnants of the HCG shot still in my system...

So back to square one.  I went to the doctor on Monday morning and waited all day for the results.  We had more trouble than usual getting my blood drawn that morning so I had sore arms on top of the anxiety I was feeling waiting for the call.

Finally around 2:50 in the afternoon, the nurse finally called.  I knew this call was different from the first sentence out of her mouth.  (I have gotten the "other" call many times)  Just the way she said my name, I knew it was good news.

WE ARE PREGNANT!!

I cant believe I get to type those words again!  We have been praying for this for so long.  We have a very long road ahead of us but we feel so blessed to be given another chance.

IUI Day!

So even though I didn't sleep very well last night, I woke up bright and early this morning very excited about the day.

I got my hubby ready and out the door so that he could go take care of business and then I would meet up with him a few hours later for the actual transfer.

Unfortunately, I hit a little snafu on my way...
Not something you want to see in your rearview EVER
but especially not when you have somewhere so important to be!
Thankfully the lady copy was feeling generous today so she let me off very easy.  It could have really but a huge damper on my day but it turned out to be just a hiccup.

A citation for having a tail light out...I'll take it  :)

I met up with the hubs, grabbed coffee and made it to the office just in time.  Here are some pictures to document our day.  There aren't too many this time because we decided to go back to work afterwards.

I LOVE how you can see D's little ring hooked onto my earring for good luck.
